As I waited in line to get checked in (took about 2 hours) I looked around at all the people I would be living with for the next 4 months and all I could see was nonstop chatter. Just about everyone around me was outgoing kinda like me. I soon discovered that a lot of us were in the same boat, haha that's funny cause we are going to be sharing a boat and we felt the same. OK wow, anyway a lot of people decided to do this by themselves, this crazy, cool, scary, incredible, adventure that we decided to do independently. But if we were independent in that then we were all together. Kind of cheesy but it was very comforting to know. On this voyage there are about 523 girls and 196 guys on this sailing. I guess girls are more adventures.
After I was checked in I was assigned a cabin, cabin 4158 is my new home. My roommates name if M
cKenzie she is form San Diego and seems pretty chill. Our room itself isn't so bad I kinda like it, it's bigger than I thought it would be. We both fit all of our stuff in the room and had some extra space (for shopping) !!!! We are living in a triple which is the exact same size as a double except we have an extra bed coming out of the wall if we want to use it when we have more people in the room or anything like that which is pretty cool. On the first day we skipped unpacking an went shopping in the Bahamas and then lunch at a Greek restaurant. I've met some really cool people so far, our neighbors are all guys and they are all pretty cool. Two are brothers from Michigan Kind of quiet but nice.
We started orientation last night (Monday Jan 19) and it continued into today (20). It was SOOOOO boring! Like the worst 30 hours of my life. But oh well. We had a break between stuff and they were able to get the inauguration on CNN. They said it would only work if we all turned off our Internet so everyone did. Later that night we had our own little SAS inauguration ball. It was really fun they had deserts and champagne! Well tomorrow I have my first day of class! Wish me luck! I don't get into Spain until January 28, until then I am at SEA crossing the Pond.
